About us
Full name: Fresh Pies Limited
Business Type: Website and Digital Agency
Established: 2007
Founders: Mark Collins (MC) and Helen White (HW)
First question, why are you called Fresh Pies?
(HW) Well my nickname's Pies
(MC) and mine's Fresh, so when we set up this company together we weren't keen on Pies Fresh so we called ourselves Fresh Pies.
Do people get confused because "Fresh Pies" has nothing to do with websites?
(MC) Sometimes, although if you think that Orange has nothing to do with mobile phones, Virgin with airlines, Shell with oil, Apple with technology etc we felt that it doesn't matter. We have had some people call the office asking about fresh pie deliveries but they're few and far between.
What's your 10 second pitch?
(MC)We are a website agency who create and develop affordable websites for small businesses whilst giving them a larger digital agency experience. We also provide creative agencies with a useful web resource to increase their service offering or handle excess workload periods.
So you're not just website designers then?
(MC) No, we like to be very hands on as well as consult, I'm usually found working on the interface and technical side of things whilst Helen's the design, accessibility and CSS expert. We both have the core skills that enable us to understand website webpage design from the foundations up
And what are your experiences with the world of web?
(MC) I've worked for various companies in house over the last 13 years, helping them to develop their overall web strategies and implementing various solutions to improve their businesses. This has also given me great experience of dealing with a few of the major web development companies in London and seeing how they work from their clients' side. I've worked in various areas including recruitment, sports, retail and the government sector.
I notice you have a small client list/portfolio?
(MC) Yes, we do work for creative design agencies too, they may not have the website skills in house or they find it's more effective to outsource the work to a local web development company. Using us means we act on their behalf and can attend client meetings and provide their client with a professional, understandable web service. Unfortunately we can't promote the work we do for the agencies as being our own.
